Our super tasty recipe for Slow Cooker Rosemary and Thyme Bread.

I have said many times how much I love my slow cooker, you just mix your ingredients together and bung it all in.

I never thought I would be able to make bread in it though, I have always made it and baked in the oven, BUT it does actually work in the slow cooker and I have been baking bread in it for a while now.

Ingredients

500g Strong white bread flour plus extra for dusting

7g fast action yeast I use those small tins you can buy in a supermarket for a few pound.

Sprinkle of salt

2 Tsp Dried Rosemary

2 Tsp Dried Thyme

350ml Warm water

(Garlic and herb is another favourite)

Method

Mix your flour, yeast and salt in a bowl, make a well and add your water a little bit at a time, mixing to combine. I usually just use a wooden spoon.

Lightly flour your surface and tip out your dough and knead for around 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Line your slow cooker with parchment paper and put your dough in, on high for 2 hours 30 minutes. Lift the bread out with your paper and pop into the oven for 5-10 minutes on gas mark 9

Serve with your favourite soups.

Enjoy.
