A question we get asked often is for budget ideas when it comes to days out. I thought I would put together a few ideas for Free or very cheap festive ideas. Please don't feel pressured into thinking you have to be going to expensive events to make memories because that is absolutley not the case.

⭐Fenwicks Window is free to view and then you could head to one of the free museums

⭐ICOS Santa Day - Bede Tower Sunderland - Free event with lots going on but you do need to pay a small fee for Santa(£4 per child)
⭐Flying Scotsman at Christmas - Locomotion - Free entry and you can climb on board for free too
⭐Puffing Billy is back visiting lots of areas - You can also say hello to santa and his helpers as they pass by.

Your local park and beaches are also great places to get some fresh air even during winter. Please do check the weather before you head out though.
⭐If you have any annual passes this is a great time to use them.
National Trust have some fantastic events on across the North East, Beamish is lovely this time of the year, Preston Park has loads on over the festive period and its only £15 for a family ticket.
⭐You could also have lots of fun at home and have movie afternoons, baking sessions, craft workshops etc.
