October Half Term In Sunderland



There are lots of spooktacular things going on this October Half Term in Sunderland.

I love this time of the year, leaves are falling, pumpkin farms are opening and theres just a chill in the air. Halloween is a favourite holiday of mine and I love seeing all of the fab fun events that are on for families.

I have tried to add things to this guide that is budget friendly most are free events but some you do have to pay and book for so please click on the ORANGE links to find out more.

Photo Memento Crafts - 10-12 & 1-4 every weekend - FREE drop in.

Where's Whimsey Trail - 10-12 & 1-4 every weekend - FREE drop in

Stained Glass Window Cards - 24th & 27th October - 10-12 & 1-4 £3 per child

Glorious Glitter Globes - 25th & 28th October - 10-12 & 1-4 £4 per child



Pyrex Pattern Trail - £2.50 per trail (includes a sticker prize) Drop in daily

Mini Science Club 21st October £5 per child

Spooky Museum Trail £1 per trail sheet 22nd - 31st October (includes sticker prize)

Spooky Treat Plates crafts - 24th October Pre booking is essential £2 per child

Fear On The Wear AR Trail - Fun Free Augmented Reality Trail around the city centre. Download the Sunderland Experience App to take part (also some fab discounts for local businesses too)

Spooky Cinema - The Peacock - FREE to attend but tickets are needed for this event. 27th October Starting at 12pm with Casper, 2pm Ghostbusters, 4pm The Adams Family

Festival Of Light - Roker Park - This event is pre booked tickets only most slots are sold out so be quick. £3 per person





Magical Mayhem - 24th - 28th October 11-3.30 Free drop in activities.

Wizard School, learn tricks, spells & wand skills and get creative in the crafty corner



Sunderland Spooktacular Firework Show - £5 per child £7 per adult or £20 for a family ticket (2+2) I would recommend booking online because tickets are nearly sold out. I highly recommend using public transport as parking is very very limited with next to no on street parking.



Spooky Crafts - 22nd, 23rd, 29th - Flappy bat & Mummy head jars. 11-4 £2 per child

Self led pumpkin trail - 24th- 28th Oct 11-3 £1 per child (includes a treat)

Hands on activities inside the lighthouse and you can climb the tower *Entry fee applies




Half Term Holiday Course - 24th - 29th, Various to choose from at various prices



Pumpkin Week - 22nd - 30th October, Haunted barn, Pumpkin picking and carving, barrel rides, quad biking and lots more £7. per person



Ryhope Engine Museum

Steam Weekend 29th - 30th FREE ENTRY Also a vintage vehicle show and autojumble



Sunderland Training and Education Farm

Halloween fun - 25th October, Pumpkin Picking, animal handling, Inflatables, Reptile shack and more. £5 per child
