A Slice of Heaven: Rudy's Napoletana Brings Authentic Italian Pizza to Durham

Huge Garlic Bread and Happy Child
Tomato Garlic Bread

Lets talk Pizza.....Better still, the BEST pizza we have ever tried!

We were kindly invited along to try out the brand new Rudy's Napoletana - Durham today and it was honestly, hands down the best pizza we have had so far.

Not only is it located in gorgeous Durham City centre, the restaurant is warm and welcoming. The staff from start to finish were all lovely and made you feel very welcome. They also ask a lot about dietary requirements which I thought was a great touch. The interior is warm, modern and welcoming with the added touches of a candle on each table, a bottle of chilli infused oil for each table and plenty of room. The atmosphere was fantastic and full of people getting drunk on Pizza.

You can see into the kitchen area, which is great and if you go you have to check out the gorgeous oven that was handmade in Naples by Stefano Ferrara. Elliot was fascinated watching them make the pizzas.

The food was out really quickly and this is what we had today

Starter

Cheese garlic bread

Tomato/ herb garlic bread

Main

Salame pizza - mine and Elliots favourite

Margherita pizza

Carne pizza - Craig's favourite

Dessert

Chocolate brownie x2

Tiramisu

Honestly we could have easily just shared one Garlic Bread and One pizza between the three of us especially if you want dessert.

We took a full pizza home and Adam and Toby demolished it also stating it was the best pizza ever.

The food was all absolutely delicious, super fresh ingredients and it was ready in no time.

We also had the homemade lemonade which was absolutely delish. I would 100% reccomend coming here fro food if you are visiting Durham (even if your not, it's worth a trip) We have plans to head back in the New year so look out for more deliciousness coming soon.

Good to know

🍕Easy to get to as it's just off Market Place (if you have time check out the indoor market)

🍕Large multistorey car park not far away

🍕Very accessible by public transport

🍕Accessible toilet/changing room and more toilets downstairs

🍕Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks served (Homemade leomonaid is a must try)

🍕It is primarily a pizza restaurant so obviously most of the menu is just pizza with a few starter options and desserts. If you don't like pizza at all then this is not for you

🍕Highchairs available

🍕Dogs welcome

🍕Vegetarian and vegan options available

From the website

"Just like in Naples, our dough is made on site every day, takes 24 hours to double ferment and just 60 seconds to cook. It is soft, light and floppy… so fold for strength or tuck in with a knife and fork. Enjoy."

We really did enjoy and will definitely be back soon!

You can find Rudy's on Silver Street in Durham.
