A Luxurious Stay in Northumberland with Budle Bay Croft - Bothy HoHo

AD

Bothy HoHo is a luxurious timber bothy that comftable sleeps 4 people. This is a 5* Northumberland farm/coastal setting and is in a fantastic location to easily access some of the local attractions (More on this further down) Ideal for families wanting to explore the area or for those who like to walk, cycle and generally be outdoors.

Bothy HoHo is well equipped to make your stay a cosy, comfortable and relaxing as possible. Sleeping 4, you will find 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one twin room with plenty of space. Some places we have stayed have felt a bit cramped, but here it is not like that, you have room to move around without it feeling like a squeeze. Read on below to find out more.

Arriving at the Bothy

You arrive down a small farm track, you have your own parking area and private garden which has grassed areas and hard standing areas. The garden is lovely and spacious and even has a sand pit for the kids and a BBQ for those who are staying when the weather is a bit nicer. Large seating area to enjoy the outdoors too and infact we stayed outside watching the animals in the field opposite until 10.30pm. We had a lovely evening watching the stars and toasting marshmallows.

The bothy has bi-folding doors leading into the open plan living, dining and kitchen. Having the bi fold doors is a lovely touch especially when the weather is nice and you can just let the air flow through. Lovely welcome pack on your arrival which consisted of a few cakes, crisps, Marshmallows and a bottle of plonk!

Lovely living area with plenty of seating options for everyone, a log burner, smart tv with Netflix and lots of gorgeous furnishings. The colour palette really helps make it a relaxing stay and you just feel super cosy staying here.

The dining and kitchen area is large and literally has everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as can be. All appliances and crockery are designer. It even includes, built in oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser (take your own sachets of your favourite hot choc)

The kitchen was probably my favourite space here, you could tell lots of thought and effort had gone into making it the best it could be.

Through the barn doors you will find a twin room with 2 single beds, both with hotel standard linen and little touches like baskets filled with toys, lamps, plenty of storage options for clothing smart tv with Netflix, and I adored the little puffin ornament on the shelf. The boys both had a lovely nights sleep and didn't want to leave.

The master bedroom, which had a King-size bed, smart Tv with Netflix, large built in wardrobe and plenty of lighting options. We had a good nights sleep and you could tell again lots of thought and effort had been made to make you feel comfortable. We have stayed in places before and I have actually left earlier than planned all down to the bed being uncomfortable so it is great to see somewhere like Bothy HoHo making those extra touches count.

The bathroom is gorgeous too, with a bath, shower, shaving point and some fancy touches like a light up, steam proof mirror. Fluffy towels provided too and robes for 2!

Outside

As I previously stated, the bothy has its own outside space, you can also enjoy the shared play area with good quality play equipment including a trampoline! There's also a games room with pool, darts and a games console for you to enjoy. (All included in the cost of your stay)

The location is idyllic and perfect for those who love the outdoors, with plenty of rolling hills and farm animals to enjoy. As part of your Budle bay croft experience you can help feed the animals, pet the animals and even go egg hunting in the hen house on a morning. The field opposite the bothy had ponies, sheep, lambs, goats and chickens but I have been told they sometimes have pigs staying with them. In the spring it is sometimes possible to feed the lambs.

The whole site is family and dog friendly, everything is included for kids including travel cot, toys and more. Your pooches are also treated to bed, bowls, comfy blankets to lay on the sofa and treats. Doggy day care can also be arranged. Also to mention there are some great walks near by and a newly opened section of the England Coastal Path passes right by the site, making it a perfect place to have a wander.

I absolutely loved Bothy HoHo, from the colour scheme to the little touches you were made to feel like you had the 5* hotel feeling but with more space and set in an unbelievable setting. We had a lovely relaxing stay and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Allison and her son (Check out the pizza business HERE) what they have achieved here so far is truly outstanding and they should all be very proud. We will definitely stay again.
