Things to do in North Wales

We recently spent a few days in North Wales and had a fantastic time. I have written separate posts for most of the attractions we visited and have added links in this post.

I have to point out, everywhere we visited and drove through was spotlessly clean, toilets pretty much everywhere which were also clean and everyone we came across was welcoming and friendly. We had a fantastic family holiday and are now planning more adventures across wales. It is impossible to drive across North Wales without stopping to take pictures! What we got up to on our holiday

Itinerary

Day one

We drove to Aberdaron which was close to our cottage and had some lovely food and watched the sun set on the beach.

Day Two

Had a lovely walk around the town and ate our cakes next to the river.

We then drove to Horseshoe pass to get some pictures and then we headed up to Castell Dinas Bran which had epic views! We also drove through the mountains this day and stopped at a few points along the drive, including The Ugly House.

Day Three

We started the day off at Caernarfon castle which was fantastic.

We ended up in Llanberis so we decided to visit the Slate Museum and Llanberis Railway which was thoroughly enjoyable. The day went downhill from that point...

We decided to drive to Llandudno and we didn't even get out of the car! It was way too busy. We did drive up The Great Orme and enjoyed the views. I would suggest if you know where you are going to be try booking somewhere for tea. We tried a few places and ended up waiting until we got back to Porthmadog, by which point we were hungry and ended up in a pub which took nearly 2 hours to serve the food (it wasn't even busy)

Day Four

We planned a full day on Anglesey and we literally stayed the whole day.

We started out at Beaumaris Castle followed by tea and cakes in the Bulkeley Hotel (I have already been eyeing up a stay here).

We then headed to the 'Long Sign' It is literally just a train station with a long sign. You can go into the large gift shop which is full of anything you can think of.

We also visited:

Penmon Point looking out to Puffin Island - We also watched the moon rise here.
