You have probably gathered from the amount of time we spend at the beach, that is our happy place. We just love to be close to the sea and we have some of the most spectacular beaches on our doorstep, not to mention the other fun things to do in those locations. Here are our top 5.

Seaburn & Roker - Our Closest, Seaburn has so much to offer especially for families. You can easily spend the day in the area exploring. Amusements, indoor soft play, amazing food outlets, Roker Park and of course the gorgeous beaches.

Amble - A lovely seaside location in Northumberland, the beach is lovely here and you can find some pretty seaglass too. Take the kiddies on the town trail and discover something new.

Whitby - Whitby is just something totally different from the rest, you can have a wander around some shops, play in the amusements, get a fright in the Dracula experience and then Eat fish and chips with Whitby Abbey as your backdrop. You can also enjoy boat rides and various museums.

Seaham - Seaham is another one of our locals, this is the place to be if it is sea glass you are looking for. Our spots tend to be either Seaham Hall Beach or Blast Beach. Both get pretty busy, so it's best to head here either early on a morning or late in the evening.

Redcar - Redcar in my opinion is underrated. It has so much to offer to families. Some of the best Amusements, a gorgeous beach, the Beacon with its fab views, Kirkleatham museum and owl centre and some good food outlets, in fact our go to place for fish and chips is located in Redcar.
