Breakfast at Love Lily Sunderland - Review

We finally managed to get around to visiting Love Lily on Roker Marine Walk after wanting to try it for ages.

I have to say that every time we have been past, it has always been really busy and its not the biggest of places, so if you're wanting to try it you are better off going early.

Luckily on our visit the weather was kind so we sat outside, the lovely staff put together a bigger table for us and brought us some menus. On our visit today staff were lovely and friendly, quick to welcome us and seat us, food was done pretty quickly.

Everything on the menu sounds utterly delicious. However we were here for one thing and that was Pancakes! (I think we will head back soon to try out some of the brunch menu) Craig and I are going to head back soon for a day date brunch to try out some other items from the menu.

What we ordered

Pancakes

Funfetti - Warm Pink Chocolate Sauce with bakery mix sprinkles and edible glitter £8.95

Kinder - Warm "Kinderella" Sauce with Coco pops and Kinder Bueno Pieces. £8.95

Lotus Biscoff - Warm Biscoff spread with crushed Biscoff and Chantilly Cream £9.95

Banoffee - Warm homemade caramel sauce, Bananas, Chantilly cream and Chocolate crisp pearls. £8.95

White Velvet - White Chocolate Sauce with Strawberries. This is what I had and it was delicious, I couldn't finish it but what I did eat I really enjoyed. £8.95

The pancakes were lovely, fluffy and had plenty of flavour. We couldn't finish everything as they were huge portions. You can ask to have what's left boxed to take away but we didn't as we were not going straight home.

Drinks

Hot Chocolates All £4.20

Unicorn - I had this one and to be honest I wasn't a fan of it, nothing wrong with it as such, just my personal opinion. I'm not a big strawberry flavour person and it tasted a bit like a warm strawberry milkshake.

Dinosaur - Elliot loved the vibrant Blue.

Malteser

Oreo

Iced Latte £4.20

Lotus Biscoff - Adam said this was the best Latte he had ever tasted.

What I didn't Like

If you are seated outside, the queue is right up against the tables where you are eating. There a glass screen between you and the queue, but there was at least 2 people smoking and this is just so off putting, and to be honest disgusting. I know it's not necessarily Love Lily to blame here but maybe a sign to ask people not to smoke whilst in the queue would be great, or have the queue on the other side away from people eating.
