2018 has been huge for movies with so many great titles released this year .
2019 looks set to be an ok year for movies, lots of animated movies set to release in 2019. As a family of 5 we try to go to the cinema once per month, although this is not always achievable as we need to make sure Elliot (6) will sit and watch it otherwise he can become distracting and loud (Normal 6 year old then)
Here are my top picks for 2019, from the upcoming releases on IMDB .
Hellboy - Currently it is theorized that the antagonist, the Blood Queen, will be based on Mike Mignola's character of Nimue, Queen of Blood, a witch who was featured in the Hellboy comic. I am really looking forward to seeing this one.
Shazam - Billy is chosen to be a champion of good by the wizard Shazam. Whenever Billy speaks the wizard's name, he is instantly struck by a magic lightning bolt that transforms him into an adult superhero empowered with the abilities of six mythical figures! I just know I am going to love this movie!
How to train your dragon: The Hidden world - An absolute must for us, How to train your dragon is a favourite in our house.
'As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless' discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup's reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind.'
Toy Story 4 - Need I say why? I have grown up with this collection of movies, My children have grown up with it too. ' When a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.'
Avengers end game - As a marvel and dc nerd if it involves Superheroes, i'm there! 'In the aftermath of Thanos wiping out half of all life in the universe, the remaining Avengers must do what's necessary to undo the Mad Titan's deed.'
Joker - I am really looking forward to this movie, 'A failed stand-up comedian is driven insane and becomes a psychopathic murderer.'
Artemis fowl - This is on the boys must watch list, definitely something we will be going to see. 'Artemis Fowl II, a young Irish criminal mastermind, kidnaps the fairy LEPrecon officer Holly Short for ransom to fund the search for his missing father in order to restore the family fortune'.
The New Mutants - Sounds just like the kind of movie we like. 'Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves'.
The Secret Life Of Pets 2 - The first movie was one of our favourites, it was fun, silly and everything we wanted for a good laugh. We will be going to see this one!
Those are my must sees for us, however there are so many movies for release in 2019 there's bound to be something for everyone.
What I don't want to see
In all honestly there's not much I won't sit and give a chance to, but I do have a few movies that I know I won't be seeing in 2019.
Disney Remakes/live action
There's so many remakes of Disney classics next year, I love Disney movies but the original ones. The remakes do nothing for me other than making me compare it to the original. I would love to see the imagination flourish like it once used to with new movies. 2019 sees the release of Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan.
IT Chapter Two - The main reason is I am Scared of clowns, and by that I mean I am absolutely terrified of them thanks to my "Dad" scaring me to death when I was a young child with a clown mask. Another reason is I have recently found myself disliking Stephen King more and more.
Men in Black International - Again Will smith and Jonny lee miller make Men In Black one of the greatest movies of all time, yet again they are scraping the barrel with another "spin" on the classic.
