Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

We recently visited Hyde Park Winter Wonderland as part of our trip to London. Read on to find out what we thought and for more info.

Things to do

Basically it is one giant fun fair with extras. It is absolutely huge and you can easily spend the full day on site. I would say set a budget and keep a close eye on it because you can easily spend an absolute fortune here.

⭐ Magical Ice Kingdom

⭐ Ice Slide

⭐ Ice Skating

⭐ Justin's singalong

⭐ Santa-land

⭐ Fairground rides

⭐ Fairground stalls (think hook a duck and impossible basketball )

⭐ Christmas Market

⭐ Rollercoasters

⭐ Giant Wheel

⭐ Cirque Berserk

⭐ Zippos Circus

⭐ Absolutely loads of places to eat and drink including Thor's Tipi

Prices

Entry on site is £5 per person 2 and under is free

Stalls were £3 for one go going up to £20 on some of them

Rides are from £5 per person but I do know some of the bigger rides were £11 each and some people said some of the other attractions were even more than this!

I think the rides were extortionate to be honest. You don't get anything included in your admission ticket although if you spend £25 or more (easy) you can claim entry back. Discounts can be found on the website HERE

Luckily my kids are past the age of fair ground rides and stalls and were not interested in going on anything, instead choosing to leave early and go to a museum instead. I do feel sorry for parents with younger kids who will want to be on everything!

I do have to say the guard upon entry was awful, the other queues were going down pretty quickly as it states bag checks are random. However ours was checking everyone, doing body scans and he even wanted to know what I had in my coat pockets ( A pair of gloves and a phone). Doing this caused the queue in our line to be ridiculous.

Good to know

⭐ Once you are in, that's it. You can not leave and re enter

⭐ If you have a budget I would suggest looking on the map on the website and plan accordingly

⭐ Some areas were really muddy so bare this in mind if you are visiting with pushchairs

⭐ Be prepared for long waits and bag searches and depending on who you get you will have to empty your pockets too. (He did this with everyone in our queue, not just me)

⭐ Be prepared for long waits during peak times

⭐ Wear comftable shoes

⭐ Toilets around the whole site which were clean and sufficient

⭐ Phone charger rental available (£26 per hire no idea how long this was for)

⭐ There's a few decent foodie deals like bottomless pizza but again, some stalls were extortionate even for London.

⭐ I have seen from other people that it is not family friendly after 4pm due to the large groups they let in who are basically there to drink. Such a shame because I think it would look fab in the dark all lit up.

All in all its a great day out if you have kids that like fair grounds and you don't mind spending a small fortune. It wasn't for us and we more than likely wont go back. That's not saying you shouldn't go if you fancy the idea of it. It is completely our personal preferences.
