We are super excited to be doing a weekly what's on for BBC Newcastle and Tees.


We only have room for 8 events which is super tricky because there's so many good things on! You can hear our segment on BBC Radio Newcastle & Tees every Wednesday on the afternoon show.


I will do a weekly post just like this so you can easily find the events we are mentioning along with links to other handy posts.

Events this week

Do The Locomotion at Locomotion Shildon - 26th February

Ever wanted to be a record breaker? Well no is your chance! Locomotion is wanting as many people as possible to do the locomotion dance in one place to break the Guinness world record. No need to book. Just show up


Durham Fire & Ice - Returning to Durham city centre 27th-28th February

This years theme is Out of this World and you can expect to see ice sculptures of R2D2, Vecna from stranger things, Mars Rover and so many more. I would recommend parking in the park and ride because events in Durham tend to be super busy.


Tails & Tales trail at Bamburgh Castle - Now until November - This is a brand new trail for this year, and is an indoor Sculpture trail. It is running until November so no need to hurry if you can't make it this week.


Lunar new year in Sunderland - 1st March

The popular event makes it return to Sunniside gardens on Sunday. You can expect a wide range of entertainment from a fashion show, dancing, Dragon Dance and traditional food.


The Sooty Show - Billingham Forum - 28th February

I absolutely loved Sooty growing up, so I am happy to say Sooty makes a return with his new show to Billingham Forum bringing along his friends including Sweep & Soo! Tickets still available


Canny Creations at Beamish Museum until 1st March

Always a popular option for a day out, Beamish have some fantastic events running including Canny Creations all about NE inventions. There's various workshops and activities across the museum to take part in.


Big Kids Circus - Teesside Park - until 8th March

We love a visit to the Circus and Big Kids Circus is back with there Jurassic show.

Expect jaw dropping stunts and plenty of wow moments. - Located opposite showcase cinema.


The Big Indie Tribute Fest - The Point Sunderland 28th February

The big indie tribute fest lands at the Point on Saturday and you can enjoy 4 hours of music from tributes to Arctic Monkeys, Sam Fender, The Killers and more. Plus live DJs and performers.
