Walltown Quarry Country Park

It's hard to believe that Walltown Quarry Country park used to be a quarry, it is now a haven for wildlife. The day we visited, we spotted so many different birds from blackbirds, various Tits, Swallow and more.
We stuck with the circular route around the park, we did have plans to walk to Thirwell Castle but the mud in the fields was beyond ridiculous. So we plan on going back once the weather improves a bit and heading out on a different route.
Walltown Quarry Country Park is set in the gorgeous Northumberland National Park, it is also a dark sky park and so worth visiting at night for some epic stargazing. You can walk to Sycamore Gap from here.
