Lock Stock ‘N’ Burgers – Berwick Upon Tweed *Review*

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

When we heard non stop good reviews from friends about a new burger joint in Berwick we just had to try it out. Lock Stock ‘N’ Burgers is a snug little restaurant right in the heart of Berwick. That is bringing an authentic taste of America to town. We have been to quite a few places that claim to have the best authentic American food but this one’s way up there with the best.

We finally went the other day for Adam’s Birthday lunch and WOW, we definitely were not disappointed.

I was not sure how much to order because, let’s face it Adam is a pig and will eat and eat and eat. Luckily he has a really high metabolism.

The portions are huge by the way.

PLEASE NOTE: Some attractions and restaurants are currently closed, due to Covid-19 and most are operating on a limited capacity basis. Please check with individual businesses how they are running during this time.

Arriving

We were greeted by a friendly staff member. The waitress asked us where we would like to sit as it was quiet. We ordered 3 diet cokes, a tray of Pulled Pork, jalapeno and dirty sauce nachos to share and we ordered some Cajun Onion rings to share too. (This alone would have fed the three of us) But we had also ordered a burger each too.

The Food

The Nachos were probably the best we have tried yet, the pulled pork was divine and we will be back for more! These were £6.50 and absolutely worth every penny.

I ordered The Bugsy which was made up of 6oz Steak Patty topped with Grilled Bacon, Peanut Butter and Sweet Chilli Jam. It was absolutely delicious. This was served with quite a lot of fries too. I think Sweet potato fries would have been better (which are available as an upgrade) and if the peanut butter had more of a peanut flavour that would just knock the socks out of every other burger I have tried yet. £10.99

Craig ordered The Nitto which was made up from 6oz Steak patty topped with slow roasted BBQ pulled Pork & Grilled Mozzarella cheese. £11.55

Adam ordered The Pretty Boy Floyd which was made up from 2 x 6oz Steak patty topped with crispy maple Bacon, cheddar cheese, Bacon & Raspberry Jam. £11.95

If that wasn’t enough to make you pop, we then ordered the infamous Freak Shakes all £5.95

The Freakshakes

I ordered The Presley – Chocolate & Graham Crackers blended with milk,Vanilla ice cream topped with Cream, Caramel sauce & Toasted Marshmallows. It was so nice.

Craig ordered The Tough Cookie – Cookie dough ice cream blended with milk & Oreo Cookies topped with cream & oreos and drizzled in Chocolate sauce.

Adam ordered The Mighty Boost – Vanilla Ice Cream blended with milk & crunchie bar topped with cream and shaved Crunchie pieces and Chocolate sauce

It was a great meal, we enjoyed all of it, the music was good and the place looked great.

The decor really gives a genuine Americana feel, the toilets were spotlessly clean

The place itself, is on the small side, so booking is a must during busy periods.

Well done guys on creating a fantastic restaurant.
