We all know just how expensive the summer holidays can be and I pride myself on bringing you money saving ideas for family friendly days out and activities, so when I head that these free day passes were available again, I just had to share the details.

I am a huge fan of the National Trust and, as a family, we have been members for over a decade now. Membership can save you a small fortune if you are planning to visit a lot of properties but, if you are unsure, then these free day passes are an excellent way to help you decide if membership is right for you and your family. Your free day pass could be worth up to £50, depending on which property you choose to visit. Your pass gives free entry for up to 2 adults and 3 children or 1 adult and 4 children. Children are classed as 17 or under, with under 5's going free.

How to get your FREE day pass.

All you need to do, is pick up a copy of The Daily Mirror or The Daily Express from 5 - 13 July. You will find your voucher inside. Just take the voucher along on your next visit. It's that simple.

Where and when to use your pass.

Passes are valid until 31 August (excluding 23 - 25 August). There are dozens of great properties across the North East and North Yorkshire to choose from, but there are some exclusions. Cragside, in Northumberland, is usually excluded from this offer and others could be, so I would always advise to check before travelling.

Your pass does not cover the cost of parking, but some properties offer free parking.
