AD|  If mind boggling illusions are your thing then you absolutely must check out Camera Obscura in Edinburgh.

Located at the top of the Royal mile next to the castle is Camera Obscura world of Illusions. camera Obscura has been noted to be the oldest visitor attraction in Edinburgh, opened by Maria Short in 1840s to offer views and optical illusions.

The attraction is spread over 5 floors with Interactive illusions such as the magic gallery where you can play with electricity, magic eye photos, mirror maze, shadow wall, thermal camera, holograms, swirling vortex and the best view in Edinburgh from the rooftop terrace which also has free to use telescopes. The top floor also has a show running which gives you a quick insight into the telescope.

You get your hand stamped on the way in so you can visit throughout the day, it is stairs only so it is not suitable to those with mobility needs.

Expect to spend around 2-3hours in the attraction if you look and try everything. There's also a trail to complete to get a small chocolate from the gift shop, which is full of fantastic gift ideas and pocket money buys.

We had a fantastic morning, and some of the illusions are NUTS! In my opinion this was the perfect activity to do with our teen
